V-Tail Bonanza flying qualities improved with VC Eaglets

Vortex Control Eaglets were installed on a V-Tail Bonanza and flight tested at the National Test Pilot School in Mojave CA. Significant improvement in flying qualities was reported by the test pilot, particularly in stabilizing the aircraft during stall.

VC Finlets improve performance in C-130 study

CAS presents AIAA paper in Reno, NV on VC Eaglets Flight Test

Chuck Dixon of CAS and Sean Roberts of the National Test Pilot School in Mojave, CA presented a paper at the annual AIAA convention in Reno NV. The paper outlined the very successful “taming the stall” effects of Vortex Control Eaglets during the flight test of the Derringer aircraft.

Charles Dixon and CAS receive Aerospace Innovation Award

Charles Dixon and CAS will receive the Ben T. Epps Aerospace Innovation Trophy for the best aerospace invention in the State of Georgia. The trophy will be presented at the Georgia Centennial of Flight Celebration and Banquet on October 20, 2007 at the University of Georgia in Athens, GA. The trophy for an invention recognizes an individual or team’s patented or patentable work in a first-of-a-kind technology. Steve Justice of Advanced Aviation Products, LLC nominated VC Eaglets for the award. Letters of recommendation were received from Bill Blake at Wright-Patterson AFRL, Sean Roberts at the National Test Pilot School, and Jack Ralston with Birhle Applied Research.

CAS President selected to present AIAA paper

Chuck Dixon, President of CAS has been accepted to present an AIAA paper on the successful VC Eaglet flight test at the AIAA National Convention in Reno, NV in January 2008.

CAS awarded Air Force contract to develop Vortex Control Finlets

The U.S. Air Force awarded CAS a contract to begin development of VC Finlets for the C-130 aircraft to reduce drag and fuel consumption. The Phase 1 effort commenced under subcontract to Support Systems Associates, Inc. (SSAI). Partner company, Advanced Aviation Products, will work with SSAI and CAS to field the final VC Finlet product kits for installation on the C-130 and other aircraft

Chuck Dixon presents VC Eaglets flight test results at the EAA Air Adventure Show in Oshkosh, WI

Chuck Dixon presented the VC Eaglets flight test results to the American Bonanza Society at the EAA Air Adventure Show in Oshkosh, WI. There was great interest among the members of the society in the safety potential for Bonanza aircraft. CAS will post an article for the August issue of the American Bonanza Society magazine.
